The WI plays a unique role in providing women with educational opportunities and the chance to build new skills, to take part in a wide variety of activities and to campaign on issues that matter to them and their communities.

WI membership runs from April to March. Fees are set by the WI Federation on an annual basis.

Taunton Early Birds is always happy to welcome new members. You can attend the first meeting as a guest with no charge (unless we have a special event on) and a second meeting for £5.00, however you will be asked to join us if you attend for a third time. Please note you cannot attend any sub-groups as a visitor.

Annual Fees for Full Members for 2026/2027 are:

 1 April to 30 June 2026 – £52.00

If you are new to WI and join part-way through the year, you will be charged a pro-rata amount:

1 July to 30 Sept 2026 – £40.50

1 Oct to 31 Dec 2026 – £27.00

1 Jan to 31 March 2027 – £13.50 

If you belong to another WI then there is a reduced fee of £25.10 for multi-membership (no pro-rata rate). The only additional costs which could be incurred are for optional trips or for activities which involve purchasing resources.
