This month our guest speaker will be author, Sally Smith. Sally’s book, ‘The Women Who Went Round the World’ Smith celebrates the remarkable adventures of the very first women to circle the globe – by sea, by land, and, in more recent times, by air and even by space. She has followed their trails across the world, digging through archives and record offices from Tahiti to Melbourne to uncover the full stories of these long-forgotten pioneers. Some of their journeys are downright breathtaking, others wonderfully entertaining, but all of them deserve a bright, permanent place in our history books.
